Located in Claremont, CA, this institute is the largest of its kind, dedicated to the promotion and preservation of California’s native plants and natural landscape.

 RANCHO SANTA ANA BOTANIC GARDEN

This rebranding celebrates the vital plants and wildlife of this rugged terrain nestled into the Mount Baldy foothills. The muted color scheme is pulled from the subtle beauty of the native landscape, while typography is inspired by iconic wood signage of National Parks.

The brief called for new stationery, (including business cards, letterhead and envelopes) new product lines.

This ‘Identity Guide Book’ explains every aspect of the new brand, from logo concept to correct usage & beyond.

Branded Product Development

Seed-based items were a natural fit to promote the institute’s message of conservation. Some product options include a line of custom seed-packets, a bird-seed cookie with wooden keepsake and a branded bird feeder.

Seeds are a powerful symbol in nature, and offer an easy way to promote wildlife in local home gardens.

It takes hundreds of rough sketches to find the right options to develop as the final logo.
